Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does Medicare cover the treatments in your office for chronic pain and neuropathy?

A: Electrochemical stimulation treatments are covered by Medicare, as well as most major insurances. Before you get started with any treatment, we perform a complimentary insurance check and let you know up front if you’ll have any out-of-pockets costs. Nobody likes surprises when it comes to their healthcare. At Atlanta Neuropathy Clinic, you’ll always know your best options before proceeding with any course of care.

Q: What can I expect on my first visit?

A: You will have a warm welcome and help us get to know your issues and concerns through forms you will out. We will evaluate if you are a candidate for electrochemical stimulation treatment during our consultation. If at that time you want to proceed with care, you will undergo a complete history and physical and a treatment plan will be presented. At that time, we will talk about and schedule a first treatment, or you may take your time to make a decision about care and when to begin.

Q: Are the treatments painful?

A: Using localized nutrients is an integral part of our electrochemical stimulation treatment regimen and does require the use of small-gauge needle injections. However, they are generally not considered painful. On the bright side, the time spent on the electrochemical stimulation machine, which comprises the majority of the treatment time, is generally considered pleasant and relaxing. Patients often relax and even take naps during treatment.

Q: How long will it take for me to start feeling relief?

A: Some patients feel relief after the first treatment, but nearly all patients will experience results within a few weeks. We will monitor symptom levels at each treatment.

Q: How long is the treatment program?

A: Typically, most insurances and Medicare cover up to 24 treatments. From the first visit on, we will monitor your pain levels, symptom changes, and preferences to determine how many treatments are needed. Some patients, after consistent treatments for a few weeks, do not need the entire 24 treatments. Others will need the entire 8-12 weeks. It is completely individual.
